April 15, 2013 – Immediate Opportunities for Diverse Contractors with Renovation of Bluegrass Community and Technical College Newtown North Campus
Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) will be hosting an event from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 in the Newtown Classroom building (located at 500 Newtown Pike, entrance midway between Loudon and 4th Street at the traffic signal on Newtown Pike) for diverse contractors interested in learning about immediate opportunities to supply construction services related to classroom building renovation at the college’s Newtown North campus.
This event is being facilitated by NDS as part of the KCTCS Supplier Diversity Initiative.
October 30, 2012 – NDS Assists Kentucky Community and Technical College System in Achieving Success with Supplier Diversity Initiative
NDS announced today a summary of first year results achieved for the Kentucky Community and Technical College System’s (KCTCS) Supplier Diversity Initiative. These include growing the organization’s impactable spend (excluding purchasing card data) with diverse suppliers in the Commonwealth by 9.7% over the previous year, resulting in nearly 8% of total spend within these same segments.
“Through their efforts, NDS has helped us increase the number of diverse suppliers that we utilize at the system level by 30.9% from where we were this time last year,” notes Wendell Followell, System Director of Business Services for KCTCS. “This includes growing the number of diverse suppliers we use for such categories as office supplies, technology and educational expenses, among others.”
January 6, 2011 – Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, National Golf Course Owners Association and World Golf Foundation Partner with Golf Industry Supplier Diversity Initiative
The PGA of America announced today that several leading golf organizations, including the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) and World Golf Foundation (WGF) have partnered with The PGA in support of the Golf Industry Supplier Diversity Initiative. These organizations join the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) which announced a partnership with the Initiative earlier in 2010.
The business case for the Initiative, developed in 2007 by National Diversity Solutions, a certified minority-owned strategic sourcing firm since hired by The PGA to facilitate the Initiative, showed that the minority community is projected to account for approximately 26% (nearly $3.5 trillion) of U.S. buying power by 2015. This projection, coupled with the increase in minority population, represents a tremendous growth opportunity for the golf industry. “The business case shows that enhanced supplier diversity is critical to stimulating growth within the golf industry and participation in the game, as well as delivering a positive financial impact on the profitability of the organizations involved,” added Joe. Steranka, Chief Executive Officer of The PGA of America.
January 28, 2009 – PGA Of America Launches Golf Industry Supplier Diversity Web Site
The PGA of America and National Diversity Solutions (NDS), a Lexington, Ky. based certified minority-owned business, have launched a new Web site for the Golf Industry Supplier Diversity Initiative. This initiative is a qualification program created to infuse diversity into the golf industry, providing buyers within the golf industry the confidence necessary to develop long-term strategic business relationships with these suppliers.
August 26, 2008 – PGA Of America to Conduct Second Annual Golf Supplier Diversity Forum; Teams With National Diversity Solutions To Support Supplier Diversity Initiative
The PGA of America will host the second annual Golf Supplier Diversity Forum during the 56th PGA Merchandise Show, Jan. 17-19, 2009, in Orlando, Fla. The inaugural event was facilitated by National Diversity Solutions (NDS), a Lexington, Ky. based certified minority owned business, to expand their Golf Industry Supplier Diversity Initiative.
